Integrate – Australia’s largest AV and IT exhibition – is a big event on the calendar for AV1’s tech heads and production team. It’s the perfect place to see what’s new, what’s hot and to find new inspiration for events.
AV1 Producer Luke Fosbury was one of the AV1ders who attended the expo in August, and we sat down with him to hear about the best new tech available for your events.
What is it?
An indoor firework display – without the safety risks! The machine creates an awesome display that you can synchronise with music and control with one remote.
What’s unique about it?
It’s not a pyrotechnic so it’s perfectly safe to use everywhere. You also get total control over the height and duration of the fireworks.
How would you use it?
Any event you want to create a memorable ‘wow’ moment! Maybe for an entrance feature, award win, or big announcement.

360Activate is a Melbourne-based digital marketing solutions team which provides holographic displays, augmented reality, virtual reality and 3D animation solutions.
At Integrate, the team had holographic rental display cabinets on show – and they looked amazing. Especially when using a prop like a Heineken beer bottle (see the video here).
What’s unique about it?
It’s a hologram! Using technology in this way is really exciting for your audience. It draws attention to the featured product or brand in a way that’s difficult to achieve nowadays without getting creative.
How would you use it?
This tech would be perfect for a product launch, conference or exhibition. You could have the prop on display and do lots of cool 3D visuals around it. It’d make a big statement.

What is it?
It’s a 3D LCD screen – without the need for glasses. It has 4K resolution and displays amazing 3D effects – the content was literally coming out of the screen at me!
What’s unique about it?
Your audience doesn’t need to wear 3D glasses to see the 3D visuals. It’s also super easy to install and use.
How would you use it?
You could display your branding or new product. It’s the sort of thing your guests would go home and tell their friends and family about.
What is it?
There was lots of great stuff from LG at the show. My favourite was their transparent LED film. It’s a film that goes over glass and you can program the light diodes to do different things.
What’s unique about it?
The LED film allows you to use any existing glass surface. Think of the last venue you worked in that had loads of windows. Those windows could now be transformed into digital masterpieces.
How would you use it?
This would be ideal for a custom set design at your conference or special event. You could even use it at your office building for internal events. Create LED magic!

What is it?
LG showcased some fantastic screens at Integrate. The LG OLED Twister was just one. It moves seamlessly from flat to concave to convex.
What’s unique about it?
The screens are flexible – but the colours are incredibly rich and the image is perfect.
How would you use it?
It’s a monitor – so you can display any content you like on these. Use motion graphics and create awesome visual content to attract an audience and keep them interested.
