Boasting spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and contemporary architecture, MCA’s Sculpture Terrace provides a stunning backdrop for cocktail events.

In this piece, we showcase a vibrant lighting design in the space and explain how we achieved this on-theme look.

A statement on the Sculpture Terrace

The themed colour selection for this event included pinks, greens and purples. Using moving patterns and gobos, this lighting design created an exterior feature that added movement and colour to the space.

DJ, turn it up

We uplit the DJ decks with themed lighting to define the space, give a dramatic silhouette and create visual interest around the DJ. When in doubt, more uplights!

LED tubes complimenting floral arrangements

This head-turning look, like most great ideas, was simple. We integrated coloured LED tubes into the table centrepieces, creating an attention-commanding look that stands out. These tubes can be set to any colour (or a mixture of colours) and can give cascading or patterned effects.

Illuminating the space

Around the balcony on the sculpture terrace, we placed a mixture of uplights and LED tubes to illuminate and delineate the space. This lighting design created a vibrant space for guests to network.

A feature entrance piece

This line grid with accompanying floral arrangement, welcome sign and LED tubes welcomes guests to this event. The irregularly placed LED tubes added a layer of dynamic lighting to the design.
